Born in Tijuana, Mexico, Maria Elena Rodriguez migrated to San Diego at the age of twelve. Her love of dog training began in high school when she volunteered at the Helen Woodward Animal Center. She earned her accreditation from the accreditation Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and took specialized courses in canine behavior at UC Davis before opening “Doggies University” in North Park, San Diego in 2015. Maria Elena has over 15 years of expertise and specializes in positive reinforcement techniques, helping over 3,000 canines and their families create better ties. She is well noted for her bilingual training programs serving San Diego’s diverse community.
